Art Workshops

Art allows us to explore, express, process, and (re-)imagine.

As trauma is embodied and non-verbal, creative practices offer particularly valuable tools for survivors. Yet, spaces to learn and develop artistic skills are often inaccessible.

We offer trauma-sensitive spaces to engage with creativity, nourishing both the curiosity of people new to the arts and the development of established artists keen to deepen their practice.

Our current offering is our weekly art club on Wednesdays, 6.30pm-8.30pm.

We will soon be announcing workshops, mentorship, scratch nights, and more - so keep an eye out!

We also offer art consultancy for projects looking to be trauma-sensitive.

The Art Club

The Traumascapes Art Club is a space to make art, facilitated by an established artist with lived experience of trauma. It's an opportunity to explore creative practices that interest you in a supportive environment. We aim to help with art making of any type, develop your skills, and support you to make your own work. Basic art materials are provided.

The Art Club runs every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

All levels are welcome. Just turn up and start making!

The facilitator

Gavin Edmonds holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art: Painting, a MA in Drawing, and a PhD from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. Gavins's work looks at how and why artists identify with artwork, and what processes are at work when this occurs. This developed from his own experience with an artwork that led to the subsequent recognition of PTSD, dating back to childhood.
